Sinusitus Be Gone!

Well, self-diagnosed Sinusitis.  But it still was terrible.  

It all started Friday afternoon.  I had a headache that covered my whole face.  I thought I was hungry, but eating did not make it go away.  I thought I needed caffeine, but diet coke didn’t make it go away.  I thought I needed sleep, so I rested all of Friday night.  

Saturday morning, I felt good enough to go to quad speed practice.  I even felt better afterwards.  I was so excited that a little workout cured my sickness… 

Was I ever wrong!  I got home from practice, and passed out for about 4 hours, which is unusal for me.  When I woke up, my throat was sore, and my head was about a pound heavier due to congestion.  My fiance and I went to a Chicago Steel hockey game on Saturday night.  I fell asleep immediately after arriving home.  

Sunday was a disaster!  I had to work on a paper due on Monday, which was accomplished in 40 second intervals between coughing, sneezing, blowing my nose, and napping.  Monday, I managed somehow to go to work, then class.  

It isn’t like this is the most sick that I’ve ever been; but I usually get bronchitis.  The whole feeling of so much pressure that I wish I had a release valve on my head is a whole new kind of sick.  

I didn’t even go to work on Tuesday.  Since my assignment is ending during the first week of April, it was a last resort to miss work; but I really needed rest.  I slept for all but probably 5 hours of Tuesday.  

Yesterday, finally, I felt better!  All of the sleep and TheraFlu paid off.  Although I missed my three hour skate on Tuesday, I made it last night.  Today, I’m completely back to myself.  The weather is absolutely gorgeous – my computer tells me it’s 64 degrees.  Of course, I’m stuck in a windowless cubicle until 5:00; but I plan to make my first dog park visit of 2009 tonight.  

With only 12 days until St. Patrick’s Day, my unofficial beginning of Spring, I can only hope that winter and the illnesses that go along with it will not make a reappearance until November!
